JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a substitute, you will be part of the daily work and actively work to create a stimulating and developing environment where children and students are at the center. You are a positive role model for the children and students in all situations. You are active and attentive and take responsibility. Together with regular staff, you contribute to ensuring that students have the best conditions to succeed in preschool and school.
Job Responsibilities:
- Preschool 1-5 years
As a substitute in preschool, you work with the youngest children. Substituting in preschool means that you replace regular staff. Together with regular staff, you will take responsibility for a group of children, including gathering, activities, dressing, dishwashing, assisting with toilet visits, and more. When you arrive at preschool, it is important to make contact with the children and get to know them. You cannot focus solely on a couple of children but must oversee the entire group. - Preschool class - grade 9
Substituting in preschool class or elementary school means that you replace regular staff. You must be able to follow a plan from the teacher you are substituting for and be prepared to improvise. When you arrive at school, it is important to build relationships with children/students and be attentive to their needs. Above all, it is important to take adult responsibility and be able to set boundaries. - Recreation centers
The recreation center activities are available at all middle schools and offer young people a meeting place during school hours and free time. As a substitute, you are part of the team that is there for the youth and ensures a safe and fun environment where everyone thrives. - After-school care
In after-school care, the focus is on training social interaction through play, sports, and creative activities. It may also be part of your job as a substitute in after-school care to have your own lessons with the students. Part of the role involves managing relationships with students, teachers, and parents. - Adapted primary school and adapted upper secondary school
As a substitute in adapted school, you work with students who have an intellectual disability. You work in smaller classes with good access to staff to ensure that all students are well supported in their learning and social development. - Upper secondary school
For those interested in substituting at upper secondary school, there are many specializations to choose from. It is important that you truly master your subject. There is usually a prepared plan that you follow, but sometimes the circumstances are different, and it is good to be able to find other solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are currently looking for someone with experience in child and youth activities, who can work a lot and is flexible. It is an advantage if you have a driver's license and access to a car as we have a great need in our outskirts. It is also an advantage if you can work as a teaching teacher in school.
You must have:
- A completed upper secondary education or an education that we assess as equivalent.
- Passed Swedish at upper secondary level equivalent to SAS 3, with proof of completed education and a very good command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

- Be engaged and responsible.
- Be able to take your own initiatives and have good teamwork skills.
- Enjoy working in many different workplaces and easily adapt to new working methods and routines.
We place great importance on personal suitability and expect you as a substitute to be a good representative of Växjö Municipality. The need in our operations varies. If your qualifications match the needs of the operation and you meet the requirements, you will be called for an interview. Selection is ongoing, and if it becomes relevant, we will contact you for an interview via email.
